“When is Rockwell going to open?”  

Soon.

As of right now, we are only a few short weeks to opening the doors at 1320 S. Vandeventer Avenue. After years of build-up, we are now in the final steps of the brewery transitioning from an idea, that once only existed in theory, in to an organization with real people, a production facility, and a tasting room. That’s a beautiful thing. There is certainly a sense of relief that comes with along with that, but we understand that this is only the beginning.

Our two biggest hurdles to get over before we open are the installation of our brewhouse, fermenters and packaging tanks, and wrapping up our local licensing. These stainless steel tanks are currently arriving in waves from Portland Kettle Works , and begin the installation process as soon as they land at our facility. Once everything is online, we still have to brew, ferment and package the stuff, which, of course, takes some time. This entire process has taken us a little longer than anticipated, but at this point, what hasn’t?

We are reluctant to give a specific date for our grand opening just yet, because we truly understand that “shit happens”. The licensing process has been relatively smooth for us so far, and we feel confident that we will have everything in place very soon. At this point in time, we feel optimistic that you will be able to enjoy a glass of Rockwell beer in our tasting room before Thanksgiving. Fingers crossed.

Before our grand opening can happen, we need to give everyone a chance to gently break the place. To kick things off, we are hosting a fundraiser for New Approach Missouri tonight from 6-9pm. We won’t have any of our beer on tap just yet, but expect some fun surprises from Team Rockwell, as well as food from Niche Food Group and tunes from DJ Alexis Tucci.

We’re back at it again on Saturday, November 10, as we host Snow Ball, the launch event for Snow Day, a new St. Louis start-up that uses 3D scanning and printing to create custom snow globes. How cool is that? It promises to be a busy couple of weeks for us as we get ready, but we are definitely up to the challenge.

Because you are here now, that means you’ve have noticed the newly redesigned rockwellbeer.com. Great job! TOKY has captured the Rockwell essence in Internet form, and we couldn’t be happier. We’re eager to roll out all of the features of the website in the coming weeks, like our digital tasting room menu. Check back often because we’ve got news on the way like additions to our growing staff, future beer releases, our state-wide distribution partner, a food menu from the team at Niche Food Group, and more.

For the fans that have been with us from the start, thanks for sticking with us. We think it’ll be worth the wait. To our newer acquaintances, we’re thrilled to have you along for the ride.
