What's in a Name? Seven Screws
There is always a story behind the names of our beers. Today, we tell the tale of Seven Screws Double Dry-Hopped Double India Pale Ale.
No More Boot
On January 18, 2019, our Production Manager, Peter, slipped on a patch of ice while on his way to get some tea in the Tower Grove South Neighborhood of St. Louis.
The scene of the accident looks very different now, but imagine it covered in snow and ice. Remember how absolutely MISERABLE the weather in January was this year?
On January 31, Peter had a procedure to place seven screws and one metal plate in his ankle to repair the damage done by the fall. This is the actual X-ray of Peter’s ankle after the procedure was complete, which is also featured prominently on the can label.
Over the next three months, Peter helped out whenever he could. He ran our canning line with his crutches by his side, and his boot wrapped in a plastic bag. He worked diligently at his physical therapy, so that he could return as soon as possible.
Peter’s hard work has paid off, and we couldn’t be happier to have him back in the brewhouse. This Double Dry-Hopped Double IPA features Falconer’s Flight and Idaho 7 hops in celebration of his return and his new hardware.
Welcome back, Peter.
