Transatlantic Pale Ale
Welcome back American Accent, our occasional mashup of English and American pale ales. Think of it as a Transatlantic ESB? (That’s not a real thing, of course.) This round we started with a base of Golden Promise and a proper dash of heritage crystal malt, and then fermented it with a favorite English ale yeast. We colored a bit outside the English lines with a modest amount of Michigan-grown Cascade and Chinook hops in the kettle and dry hop. We kept it restrained by American standards to stay faithful to the spirit of the thing. Expect candied orange, nougat, and grapefruit marmalade. Right pretty though, innit?
